Saint Patrick’s Day is a big drinking and feasting holiday, with Irish beers, whiskeys, and food. Eater compiled the celebrations of Ireland’s patron saint around Austin to drink green and more. There’s bagpipe music over at Jack & Ginger, both a practice party and an official party at B.D. Riley’s, green ice cream at Lick, and so much green beer and green Jell-O shots.

Everything below takes place on Friday, March 17, unless otherwise noted. Note that the holiday takes place in the midst of South by Southwest and the University of Texas at Austin’s spring break.

Keep up the drinking vibes with Austin’s best Irish pubs, beer, beer gardens, brewery destinations, dive bars, happy hours, and other cocktail spots both iconic and new. There’s also a guide to the best fish and chips in town.
