Don your biggest hat, sip those mint juleps, and get ready for one of the country’s biggest stylish sporting event, as the Kentucky Derby takes place this week. Even though the actual action is happening in Louisville, Austin is still getting in on the fun with race watch parties, drinks, and more.

Whether you’ve got a favorite horse you’re hoping will win, really like fancy hats, or need an excuse for mint juleps, these Derby Day parties in Austin have it all covered, from juleps at the Four Seasons, hat-making parties at Black Sheep Lodge, festivities at Nickel City, and more.

The Round Rock Irish pub and microbrewery is hosting its second Derby Day party. Along with its regular menu, there will be mint juleps (regular and frozen) from whiskey company Maker’s Mark, as well as a performance by singer Phil Hurley after the race. Attendees are encouraged to dress up and enter the best-dressed competition. Reservations are available for the indoor dine-in areas, and the outdoor areas are available on a walk-in basis. It runs from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Four Seasons Hotel Austin

The Four Seasons will throw its ninth annual Derby Day party in the Live Oak bar with cocktails, food including hot brown sandwiches and bourbon-peanut butter pies, a pop-up hat shop, and two live miniature rescue horses. Tickets are available at the event for $50, which comes with one julep and one race betting form. It runs from 3 to 7 p.m.
