Get Three Festive Umbrellas To The Wind For Tiki Week

View as Map

Texas Tiki Week, a celebration of Polynesian-obsessed days of yore, is coming up from June 22-30, and it's bigger and tiki-er than ever this year, with events in Dallas, Houston, San Antonio and Austin.

Founded last year, Tiki Week originates in Austin with the U.S. Bartenders' Guild and David "Tipsy Texan" Alan, who created the rum-centric event to celebrate renowned rum expert Ed Hamilton's visit to town. For the second annual event, the emphasis has expanded from rum to include bourbon and tequila, with events showcasing Tiki cocktails both classic and modern. Today, find Eater Austin's picks for the most promising places to celebrate this particular slice of boozy Americana.
