Tacos: Austinites sure do love them. Whether it’s for lunch, dinner, or, especially for breakfast, there’s a delicious taco to be consumed any time of day. But, it’s the late-night taco that’s perhaps the tastiest of them all.

What can be better than eating a delectable tortilla filled with tons of goodies after a long night of drunken revelry? Answer: Nothing. (Well, perhaps queso.)

Of course, what counts as late-night is subjective. East Side favorites Las Trancas and Pueblo Viejo (and the south Veracruz location) serve until midnight. Longtime Tex-Mex love Trudy’s and East Cesar Chavez’s Las Cazuelas (and its unforgettable chorizo) are available until 2 a.m. Then, for the extreme night owls, The Drag’s boozy Taco Bell Cantina and Riverside’s El Taquito, which serve until 4 a.m. and even 24-hour faves like Mexican bakery La Mexicana.

Eater Austin lists our favorite late-night tacos from north to south throughout the capital city below. Don’t miss the lists of must-eat tacos, the latest and greatest tacos, and, for when the sun finally rises, breakfast tacos.

Did we miss a favorite spot? Let us know through the tipline.
