Austin is the live music capital of the world, after all, and that title applies to the city’s karaoke bars, too. It’s where anyone can take the leap from being a spectator to a singer (sometimes with the aid of a little liquid courage, too, if necessary).

Austin has plenty of karaoke choices, from the imaginatively-themed private rooms at The Highball, solid dive bar crooning at Ego’s Lounge, to BYOB tunes at Austin Karaoke. hella fun club Outer Heaven, to Hotel Vegas’s indie/punk rock array.

For other fun-filled drinking and eating-adjacent activities, there are Austin's best live music and food spots, dog-friendly bars and restaurants, and breweries.
