Gluten-free dishes from Wilder Wood.
| Wilder Wood

Austin is an exceptionally friendly town for gluten-free diners. There are well-informed kitchens offering carefully marked menus, restaurants with completely separate lists of dishes, and places entirely dedicated to serving only gluten-free fare. Plus, any fine dining restaurant will happily adjust tasting menus, and the city's two signature cuisines — barbecue and Tex-Mex — tend to be low on wheat, though it's always important to check in about ingredients.

That said, there's a difference between being relegated to eating salad and bunless burgers and getting to enjoy food that's usually off-limits, and Austin’s gluten-free array is boundless with options ranging from baked goods at Zucchini Kill to Detroit-style pies from Via 313. This update includes Wu Chow and Choo Sando.
