Dishes include burgers laden with eggs, bacon, and avocados; chicken and waffles; and a short rib hash. There are also brunch cocktails like mai tais with chai and sangria margaritas. The very brand new North Loop restaurant from vegan taco truck Vegan Nom and coffee shop Barrett’s opened this week in June and it’ll start slinging those breakfast tacos this weekend, making it the perfect new brunch destination. It opens at 7 am. Saturday and Sunday. There are indoor and outdoor dine-in areas.

Wu Chow [Rosedale]

The modern Chinese restaurant expanded with a second location in the Rosedale neighborhood in May, which means Sunday dim sum. There are loads of dumplings (including soup dumplings), noodles, and other dim sum goodies. There are indoor and outdoor dine-in services; takeout and delivery orders can be placed online. Dim sum hours are from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday.

Formerly Hotel Granduca, the revamped Hotel Viata’s also updated Italian restaurant is now doing weekend brunch as of March. Items include a barbacoa potato hash with eggs; an everything bagel with smoked salmon, bacon, dill cream cheese, tomatoes, and arugula; and lemon ricotta pancakes. Brunch is available from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. There are indoor and outdoor dine-in services.

Veracruz Fonda and Bar

Fantastic taco spot Veracruz opened its newest restaurant — Veracruz Fonda in Mueller — in April, and yes, its fantastic breakfast tacos are available for weekend brunch purposes. The all-day menu includes those migas as well as chilaquiles, picadas, and more. It’s open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. There are indoor and outdoor dine-in services.

The Cherrywood Tex-Mex restaurant reformated its brunch in March with new dishes. This means puffy huevos rancheros, crab omelets, blueberry pancakes, and bananas foster pancakes. Drinks include White Russians, cantaloupe margaritas, and a variety of juice-based mimosa. Brunch hours are from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
