Texas may be known as the Lone Star State, but plenty of Hollywood stars have passed through over recent years. From coming-of-age films like Boyhood to Westerns such as True Grit, the city of Austin and its iconic landmarks have often graced the silver screen. Several established restaurants — such as Guero’s Taco Bar, Magnolia Cafe, and Texas Chili Parlor — have been featured as a backdrop in some of the most beloved films over the past few decades.
As with all businesses right now, be sure to call ahead to make sure each restaurant/truck is still open or if there are updates on current offerings and service models, as things are changing constantly. Be sure to wear a mask, tip well, and, if you’re ordering delivery, try to order directly from the restaurant/truck themselves.
The latest CDC guidance for vaccinated diners during the COVID-19 outbreak is here; dining out still carries risks for unvaccinated diners and workers. Please be aware of changing local rules, and check individual restaurant websites for any additional restrictions such as mask requirements. Find a local vaccination site here.
