The Essential Guide to Top Austin-Area Brewery Tours and Taprooms

See where the beer magic gets made

View as Map
Jester King Brewery
| Jester King Brewery/Facebook

Austin runs on craft beer, and the city's ever-expanding brewery scene offers plenty of opportunity to get up close and personal with your favorite hoppy beverages. This map highlights the best breweries with taprooms and/or tours in the Austin-area.

There are longtime offerings from Austin beer stalwarts like the relocated Live Oak Brewing Company, Real Ale Brewing Co., and the idyllic Jester King Brewery out in the Hill Country. Find Tex-Mex beer from Twisted X Brewing Company, sours at Blue Owl Brewing, and feel charitable with Save the World. Most offer outdoor spaces, food trucks, and handy glasses.

Drink and tour these fine establishments without having to worry about driving home by taking an ATXcursions tour or the Twisted Texas tour. For the best and hottest new bars serving these wonderful craft brews, look no further than Eater’s beer heatmap. Look out for a brand-new map covering the city’s best brewpubs/brewery-restaurants later this month. For other boozy needs, check out Austin's cocktail heatmap, picks for essential cocktail bars, wine, and happy hours.
