Whether it’s after work, or just 5pm, there’s never really a wrong time for a drink. Happy hours make it easier to imbibe twice as much for the same price, with food specials to line your stomach. For Cocktail Week, Eater expanded its happy hour map from last year, including Uchi’s affordable sake hours, Shangri-La’s all Tuesday-long drink specials, and the White Horse's fish-threatening deals. Eat And Drink on The Cheap at Austin's Best Happy Hours, Fall 2014
Here are Austin’s best happy hour specials.
If a languorous gastronomical stroll through Austin's best sushi restaurant isn't in the cards for your credit cards, the sake social hour at Uchi is a fantastic opportunity to sample the best of the menu at a fraction of the regular cost. From 5- 6:30pm daily, Uchi offers stellar rolls at lower prices than the HEB sushi counter, plus Tyson Cole classics (Uchiviche!) and $3 sake.
Like its older sibling, Uchiko also offers a fantastic sake social menu that puts some of their most known dishes, including okashi, within striking distance of many more pocketbooks.
Happy hour starts early at Odd Duck, from 2:30-6pm Mondays through Fridays, and even on Sundays from 2:30-10pm. The specials include 25% off larger bottle of beers and wine, plus $3 on all Texan drafts, and $5 Moscow Mules and Frozen Prickly Pear Margaritas.
There’s a separate happy hour menu, valid from Tuesdays to Fridays from 5-7pm, Saturdays from 3-7pm, and Sundays from 3-10pm, and includes cocktail, beer, and wine specials.
Red’s is lousy with specials, including happy hours during weekdays, food specials on Fridays and Sundays, and daily all-day specials.

Go find out what a “raw power” happy hour means, every day from 4-7pm.

Parkside's daily happy hour, from 5-6:30pm, is one of downtown's very finest. Chef Shawn Cirkiel's stellar bar menu (think: oyster platters, the restaurant's signature French fries) is offered at half price, as are beer and cocktails. And if you go on Martini Mondays, their specialty martinis are just $5.
If you can prove you’re an Austinite (with the ID to back it up), enjoy half-off drinks at the bar that believes in “life, liberty, and the pursuit of beer.”
La Condesa's weekday happy hour, from 5-7pm, is a chance to sample some of beverage director Nate Wales' finest work at half price. (Start with the margarita and you won't be steered wrong, even if you're stumbling.) Appetizer specials are also available, but happy happens only in the bar, so make sure to snag a spot early.
Drink up the delicious and unique cocktails at drink.well’s happy hour special from Tuesdays to Fridays, 4-6pm, with cocktails for $6 with a side of anything from the oh-so-good menu.

If you get out of work too late on Mondays, take advantage of Frank’s considerate late night happy hour that day, from 4-10pm with $3 Austin Beerwork drafts, cocktails and half-price waffle fries. Otherwise, head to their regular happy hour from 4-6pm on Tuesdays to Fridays.
