Via 313's second brick and mortar location opens at 5pm today, making it possible for central Austin residents to enjoy crispy-cornered Detroit-style pizza (and Faygo pop!) with ease. Eater Austin photographer Robert J. Lerma popped in to the lightly renovated restaurant, which retains its glorious brick accent wall and flaunts a decidedly masculine wood-and-metal motif. Like the Oak Hill location that precedes it, Via 313 North Campus offers a variety of seating options, including long picnic tables for large parties, booths, cafe tables, and lots and lots of counter seating.
Via 313 has come a long way since brothers Brandon and Zane Hunt opened their first trailer in 2011, adjacent to the Violet Crown Social Club on East 6th. The second trailer operates outside Craft Pride on Rainey Street. They opened the first Via 313 restaurant in Oak Hill in April 2015. Via 313 took over the North University spot shortly after it was vacated by Blackbird & Henry, which shuttered in late 2015.
