No, really.

Hungry but broke? If you can play the ukulele, Tyson's Tacos on Airport Blvd. will totally feed you. The taqueria now has a sign posted inside that thoroughly explains the fine details of their ukulele-for-tacos program. (As a poster on Reddit points out, that's certainly one way to make Austin more affordable for musicians.)

Turns out you don't even have to be that musically talented, either — they might just give you food out of pity if you really suck. And if you're really hungry, hopefully you know more than one song, because there's a one-taco-per-tune rule.

Rounding up the week's reviews.

Brandon Watson checked out Bun Belly, the "contemporary Vietnamese restaurant" from the owners of Pho Thaison. He was disappointed by a lack of consistency and "the blah atmosphere," but says "when Bun Belly works, it competes with the best cafes in town":

The classics stand out. On a dinner visit, the steamed bun sliders were uniformly excellent. The Beef Belly ($7, two to an order for all buns) and Mekong Belly ($7), though hardly distinguishable from each other in appearance, showed the kitchen's wide range. The bun itself almost floated. The Vietnamese crepe ($8) tatted shrimp and pork into the lacey crisp, adding onions and bean sprouts. The herb selection, integral to the dish, surprised in both its just-picked freshness and variety. I'm not sure if another place in town offers shiso in their mix, but it should be de rigeur.

— Got dreams of TV chef stardom? Masterchef is holding a casting call right here in Austin this Saturday at the Downtown Residence Inn (300 E. 4th). Show up with a dish to impress the judges, but keep in mind you won't be able to do any actual cooking on site; more details here.

— And now, here's the people's champ Paul Qui talking to the Culinary Institute of America about his cooking philosophies. Says Qui: "At the end of the day, I just want the guest to be satisfied, whatever it takes — whether that's a 25-course tasting menu at one of my restaurants or something from my food trucks that's a $5 item."

Tempura and sake, too.

Heads up, sushi fiends: The new restaurant from former Musashino chef Kazu Fukumoto <s>makes it debut next Wednesday, September 2. UPDATE: Fukumoto has delayed its opening due to equipment issues; stay tuned for a new opening date as soon as it's available.</s> Update, September 3, 10 a.m.: Fukumoto swings its doors open to the public officially today at 4:30 p.m. Hours are from 4:30 to 10 p.m. from Mondays through Thursdays, and until 11 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. Located at the bottom of the Corazon Apartments on East Sixth along with neighbors Gelateria Gemelli and The Bee Grocery, Fukumoto will serve yakitori, tempura, sushi, and sake straight out of mini Japanese barrels.

The dining room showcases an open kitchen where diners can watch (and smell) their yakitori being grilled. If the pop-up held at Qui earlier this year was any indication, expect all manner of chicken parts to be skewered and grilled, including gizzards, livers, hearts, and crispy skin. There will also be a patio out back, and oh yeah — don't miss the fancy bidets in the bathroom.
