Con Todo, the Eater Award-winning food truck and one of Eater National’s best new restaurants of 2022, launched a crowdfunding campaign to raise money for two purposes. The first is to be able to repair the existing truck at 10001 Metric Boulevard at Celis Brewery in North Austin. The second is to open a second, larger truck.

Owner Joseph Gomez is hoping to raise $35,000. The money would be used to fix up the trailer; get a second one somewhere closer to central Austin; and allow the team to make more food — including daily breakfast — and expand operational hours, offer more events, and work on a maiz program.

The funds will also help Gomez and the team participate in efforts to support migrant workers, especially along the Mexican border in the Rio Grande Valley. “I’ve been advocating for these issues since day one, recognizing their importance,” he writes on Instagram. “Our industry wouldn’t exist without them.”

Gomez opened Con Todo in October, serving up tacos and dishes stemming from his Rio Grande Valley roots. Before that, he had a cookie delivery service during the pandemic in 2020. He also worked at numerous Austin restaurants and bars, including Filipino restaurant Be More Pacific, Thai restaurant Thai Kun, and beer garden-bakery mini-chain Easy Tiger.
