Rainey Street burger stand Not a Damn Chance Burger is opening a full restaurant in East Austin this week. The new NADC Burger restaurant is found at 1007 East Sixth Street in the East Cesar Chavez neighborhood starting on Monday, December 4.
The restaurant is from Sushi by Scratch chef and co-owner Phillip Frankland Lee and professional skateboarder Neen Williams. The patties are made with wagyu from Gatesville, Texas business Iron Table Wagyu and spices from Williams’s retail company NADC. The smash burgers include American cheese, a sauce, onions, jalapenos, and pickles. The fries are fried in wagyu fat.
The physical space includes indoor bar seats with an open kitchen and a patio. It’ll also serve cocktails and beers. There will be a late-night happy hour special of a Pabst Blue Ribbon tall boy beer can, a burger, and a Jameson whiskey shot for $20 starting at 11 p.m. Scope out the full menu below.
NADC Burger took over what had been the final location of Austin pizzeria mini-chain Spartan Pizza.
Lee and Williams opened Not a Damn Chance Burger as a counter window restaurant within Rainey Street bar Idle Hands in October 2022. This will remain open with the opening of the new spot. They expanded with a location in Chicago at the Drop In bar earlier this February.
NADC is part of the national restaurant group Scratch Restaurants’s growing Austin empire. There’s the recent bakery from co-owner Margarita Kallas Lee, Wolf and Wheat, which opened next door to NADC Burger in October. Also on the same block is the Austin location of Los Angeles-based tasting menu restaurant Pasta|Bar.
Elsewhere, there’s the anchor omakase restaurant Sushi by Scratch within the Lost Pines Resort in Cedar Creek. There’s also the forthcoming fine-dining restaurant in Dripping Springs, which was originally pegged to be a sushi-focused one named Shokunin, but that has since changed. Sushi by Scratch has also been expanding nationally, with recent openings in Dallas, the Bay Area, and Seattle.
NADC Burger’s hours are from noon to midnight Monday through Thursday and then from noon to 3 a.m. Friday and Saturday.
