Two new steak restaurants are coming to Austin in 2024, as both originally reported by Austin Business Journal.

First, John Carver, the owner and chef of Austin restaurants of Red Ash (which is still temporarily closed because of a kitchen fire) and J Carver’s, is opening a new restaurant called the Kimberly in downtown Austin inside the Indeed Tower at 200 West Sixth Street potentially in the fall of 2024. The restaurant, named after Carver’s wife, will feature a lot of steaks made on the wood-fired grill.

And then, Dallas company FB Society is opening its Texas steakhouse mini-chain Haywire in the Domain Northside sometime in late 2024. It’ll be found at the vacant Sway location at 11501 Rock Rose Avenue, Suite 100. The menu includes meaty dishes like elk tacos, barbacoa grilled cheeses, burgers, and dinner-time steaks.

This will be Haywire’s third overall location, with one in Plano and the other in Dallas. The company is also opening another one of its tapped wine bars in the same Domain neighborhood, Sixty Vines, in 2024. It opened a location of its Texas-American chain restaurant Whiskey Cake Kitchen in Round Rock in 2022.

Mac and cheese chain opens in Round Rock waterpark

The first Texas location of mac and cheese chain restaurant, Macs, set its opening date within Round Rock waterpark and hotel Kalahari Resorts & Conventions. It’ll be found at 3001 Kalahari Boulevard starting on Sunday, December 17. Expect a variety of mac and cheese dishes (naturally), including carnitas and the Hangover, with hash browns, grilled hot dogs, and bacon.

Tracking Round Rock restaurant coming attractions

Community Impact reports that two new restaurants will be opening in Round Rock in 2024.

The Austin franchise of seafood restaurant chain Hook & Reel is opening a new Japanese restaurant, Kyoka Sushi, in February 2024. The restaurant, from owner Jun Ye, will be found at 661 Louis Henna Boulevard, Suite 300, serving up sushi, noodles, and tempura. It’s taking over the sushi restaurant Beluga’s space.

And then Austin mini-chain restaurant the Halal Bros. will be opening in Round Rock in the spring of 2024. Its fourth restaurant will be found at 302 North I-35, serving its usual menu of halal meats and mains like gyro, kebabs, and falafels in rice plates and wraps.
