Burgeoning restaurant group Gabriela’s Group is opening its latest restaurant, Seareinas — a seafood and sushi restaurant. Seareinas is open at 6607 North Interstate Highway 35 in North Austin near the St. John’s neighborhood as of July 14.

Seareinas serves fish — which it advertises is flown in daily from both the Gulf of California and the Pacific Ocean — used in dishes and sushi. The restaurant draws inspiration from Sinaloa, a state in northern Mexico known for fresh seafood dishes like aguachile, sushi, and abundant produce.

To drink, there will be a full bar with drinks like margaritas, micheladas, Mexican beers, and more. Seareinas will also feature live music, eventually including local Latino musicians serenading guests at their tables.

Seareinas comes from Gabriela’s Group, from siblings Arturo and Gabriela Bucio. The group is known for creating scene-y restaurants with Latin flair, like West Sixth’s super-pink Taquero Mucho. Similarly, the restaurant will have lush tropical decor (courtesy of two local women-owned design firms Unhinged Studio and BRWN COLLECTIVE), custom neon signs, and an outdoor sports court for guests to use while waiting for a table.

Gabriela’s Group also includes restaurants Taquero Mucho, Gabriela’s Downtown, Gabriela’s South Austin, coffee shop Revival Coffee, and nightclubs Mala Vida and Mala Santa.
