Viral Movie Marketing
Missing animal posters aren’t new to Austin, but a recent one declaring a stolen pig has been spotted in Austin, thanks to an Eater tipster. The flier is actually part of the marketing thing for Nicolas Cage’s new movie premiering this week, Pig. The actor plays a Pacific Northwest truffle hunter whose prized truffle-sniffing pig (simply named “Pig) was kidnapped. The poster notes that the pig was last seen in Portland (where the movie was filmed) and that she loves truffles and mushroom tarts. There’s an accompanying Instagram account that has been sharing Insta-stories of the posters.

Texas Tacos Podcast
First a book, then a television series, and now a podcast: Tacos of Texas will be hosted by Mando Rayo in collaboration with his company Identity Productions, KUT, and KUTX. The first episode premieres today, July 12. The first episode explores Tex-Mex barbecue.

Downtown Development
Another development slated for Rainey Street could mean the shuttering of the Rainey Street food truck court, according to Towers.

More Ghost Kitchen Restaurants
Two new virtual restaurants opened their first Texas locations this summer. California-based New American restaurant Greenleaf Kitchen & Cocktails and United Kingdom-based fast-casual restaurant Camile Thai Kitchen are found in ghost kitchen hub Kitchen United Mix in Wooten on 8023 Burnet Road. The meals are available for takeout and third-party deliveries.

Spicy Barbecue Specials
South Austin barbecue truck LeRoy & Lewis is hosting its annual heat week, where pitmaster/owner Evan LeRoy and the team will offer increasingly spicy specials every day. Teased dishes include hot Italian beef, Nashville hot pork steak, and a mapo tofu sausage. People who eat all five dishes will get a gift card and merchandise. It takes place from Wednesday, July 28 through Sunday, August 1 starting at 11 a.m. each day until everything is sold out.

Hill Country Public Market
A new marketplace with food and drink is slated for Fredericksburg, as reported by My SA. Grand Central at Milam will feature indoor and outdoor space with restaurants and retail spots when it opens in the fall.
