Grab Lamb Bacon Ribs at Mediterranean Barbecue Pop-Up in Highland This Weekend

Egyptian pitmaster Kareem El-Ghayesh’s pop-up barbecue shop, KG BBQ, will be serving a Mediterranean barbecue menu at Dia’s Market (812 Justin Lane) in the Highland neighborhood this Sunday. He will have smoked meats like brisket and lamb bacon ribs, and chicken kebabs as well as sides like fattoush and pink potato salad, sandwiches, barbecue rice bowls, and pistachio rice pudding for dessert. The pop-up will be available on Sunday, April 25 for pickup or dine-in, and will go from noon to 4 p.m. or until sold out. Preorder online.

Amanecer Co Pop-Up at Cuatro Gato
Houston-based coffee roaster Amancer Co is popping up at downtown coffee shop and cocktail bar Cuatro Gato (310 Colorado Street) today, Friday April 23, from 4 to 9 p.m. for a boozy collaboration. The drink menu includes special brews inspired by different parts of Latin America like a cold brew tamarindo with coffee-infused gin and an horchata espresso with mezcal. Amanecer Co is owned by Malen Mendoza, a barista and home roaster.
