Famed Texas Chef Is Opening Restaurant at New Senior Living Community in Georgetown

Georgetown Retirement Community to Feature Fancy Southwest Chef
Dallas Chef Stephan Pyles, a James Beard Award-winner often called one of the founding fathers of Southwestern cuisine, will be advising a new senior living facility, the Hacienda in Georgetown. That includes menus, concepts, and kitchen designs for each of the facility’s four restaurants. The Hacienda’s fine dining restaurant will be open to the public when the community opens in 2022. Pyles has similarly advised a luxury high-rise retirement community in Dallas.

Picnic Baskets Benefitting Austin Food & Wine Alliance
The Republic Park location of butchers shop and restaurant Salt & Time is offering picnic baskets by preorder this Friday, April 23. Each basket comes with a cheese or meat board, sandwiches, chips, and cookies. The baskets are available to-go or to eat in the park, and $1 from each basket sold will benefit Austin Food & Wine Alliance. Order online.

Rosé Tasting for Austin Dames
The Austin chapter of Les Dames d’Escoffier is hosting a fundraiser (dubbed Dame Pink) with a tasting of more than 15 pink wines on Friday, May 14 from 4 to 7 p.m. The event will take place at Texas AVA Tasting Room (shared by Texas wineries Wine for the People and C.L. Butaud) and feature wines represented by Austin Dames. Tickets to Dame Pink are $40, with the option to purchase snack boards from Casero Austin as well and purchase the featured wines. The fundraiser benefits Les Dames scholarship program.
