Popular Austin bagel company Rosen’s Bagel Co. is opening its very first physical location this year. The new counter-service shop will be found at 11101 Burnet Road, Suite 100 starting this summer for to-go and dine-in services.
On deck will be those New York-style bagels — ranging from everything to jalapeno-cheddar to rosemary-sea salt to cinnamon-raisin — alongside schmears such as scallion cream cheese, a vegan option, blueberry cream cheese, and candied lox. The physical location will also expand the menu with daytime bagel sandwiches, matzo ball soup, and salads with bagel croutons. As for drinks, there will be coffee and espresso drinks from Austin roastery Tiny House Roasters.
Rosen’s forthcoming space will be designed by interior designer Lilianne Steckel, who has worked on various bright and airy restaurants in Austin, from Better Half to the South Austin location of Eastciders to Bird Bird Biscuit to Banger’s. The store will also feature bright designs by artist Will Bryant. There will be an indoor area for dining, as well as two patios and a drive-thru window.
Rosen’s owner Tom Rosen, who started the company in 2017 as a pop-up, had always wanted to open a physical store. When the new shop opens, Rosen’s will still keep up its wholesale orders, from Whole Foods Markets through various local coffee shops and restaurants such as Patika, Wright Bros. Brew & Brew, and Biderman’s Deli (the Jewish restaurant actually switched its bagel production over to Rosen’s in 2019).
