New French Patisserie Boasting Cakes and Croissants Opens in Central East Austin

A new French bakery, Rocheli Patisserie, is bringing cakes, croissants, and more to Central East Austin this month. The shop will open at 1212 Chicon Street on Saturday, February 13.

Rocheli Patisserie has been operating as a customizable bakery service since 2012, and is known for specialty cakes. In addition to cakes, the new bakery will offer croissants (including flavors like triple-chocolate Nutella and almond), macarons, cream puffs, decorated cookies, and other buttery delights.

To drink, there will be tea, coffee (including flavored lattes), hot chocolate, and sodas. Originally, there was going to be tea service with pastry towers, but that’s on hold for now due to COVID-19 safety measures.

Nelly Garcia — who was named to the Forbes 30 Under 30 list in 2015 — owns Rocheli with her sister Linda Garcia and her mother Rosa Nelly Caballero. The women previously worked under Buddy Valastro, from TLC television series Cake Boss.

The shop will be open Tuesday through Sunday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. They will host a virtual ribbon-cutting ceremony on Facebook Live on Friday, February 12.
