A Running List of Austin Restaurants and Food Trucks That Are Open During the Winter Storm

Because of icy conditions, many Austin restaurants, food trucks, bars, and breweries are staying closed out of safety concerns or remaining open to feed locals

Travis County has been undergoing severe winter storm warning, with below-freezing temperatures coupled with ice, snow, and rain through the week. In light of these hazardous circumstances paired with dangerous driving conditions, forced power outages, a boil water notice, and just straight-up no water, many Austin-area restaurants and food trucks have decided to remain closed during the storm. And others are remaining open to feed the neighborhoods during a time when many businesses are closed or operating with modified services (especially considering the water boil notice right now).

Eater is tracking the cold-weather-related openings below. Know of any other restaurants/food trucks/bars/breweries/wineries in the Austin area that are open during the storm? Let Eater Austin know through austin@eater.com.

There are many restaurants offering free food as well, tracked via a separate guide on Eater.

Call ahead to make sure open businesses are indeed still open. Be patient and understanding — many businesses are working with limited staff and products. Tip very, very well; be sure to wear a mask; opt for pickups if possible and safe, and, again, tip very, very well. Be careful out there.
