North Shoal Creek Tex-Mex restaurant Eldorado Cafe has opened a new offshoot, Eldorado Taco y Torta, within ghost kitchen Kitchen United Mix. The restaurant opened for delivery and pickup orders as of August 8 at 8023 Burnet Road in Wooten.

Tacos y Tortas has a hefty menu of, you guessed it, tacos and tortas, alongside desserts, bowls, and sides. The taco selection includes popular dishes from its parent restaurant, like carnitas and carne guisada, alongside more creative takes like the Honolulu pork and a fried chicken taco. The tortas side includes milanesa and a banh mi. There are also dishes like a taco bowl, Eldorado’s cheese n rice, and caramel cookies.

Owner Joel Fried told Austin Monthly that he doesn’t plan to open Eldorado’s dining room for the rest of the year, so this commissary kitchen is a way to sustain the business.

Tacos y Tortas joins several restaurants operating within Kitchen United, including Korean restaurant Seoulju, Ramen 512, hot dog chain Dog Haus, Teji’s Indian Restaurant, Bao’d Up, Nashville-style fried chicken spot Hawt Chicken, Bombay Walla, and Missouri-based mini-chain Hawaiian Bros. Kitchen United opened earlier this year.

Tacos y Tortas will be open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday. Order online for pickup or via Postmates for deliveries.
