California-based hot dog chain Dog Haus is now open within ghost kitchen Kitchen United Mix. Though the restaurant will be at 8023 Burnet Road in the Wooten neighborhood, there is no dining room and food is available for delivery and pickup only.
Dog Haus has a casual menu of beef hot dogs, sausages, and burgers served on King’s Hawaiian rolls, with vegetarian options available for each. In addition, three sibling restaurants (owned by the same parent company, Absolute Brands) will also be serving out of the kitchen: Bad Mutha Clucka, which serves fried chicken; Plant B, which provides vegetarian burgers and hot dogs; and Bad-Ass Breakfast Burritos, which serves breakfast burritos.
Kitchen United, which, like Dog Haus, first opened in Pasadena, provides a central kitchen that restaurants use for delivery or to-go orders. Dog Haus and its siblings join four other restaurants at Kitchen United: local restaurants Teji’s Indian Restaurant, Bao’d Up, Nashville-style fried chicken spot Hawt Chicken, and Bombay Walla, and Missouri-based mini-chain Hawaiian Bros. Kitchen United is also where Zach Adams, who owned Regal Ravioli and Lunar Pizza, ended up as head of operations.
Dog Haus currently has three Texas locations in the Dallas area, although this is the first restaurant in Austin. Kitchen United opened in Austin, its third location, this year.
Dog Haus Kitchen is open daily from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Order in-person at kiosks, or online kitchenunited.com or via third-party delivery apps, such as GrubHub or DoorDash.
Update, July 7: This article has been updated to add Hawt Chicken at Kitchen United Mix and to clarify the opening date as this year.
