Pastry chef Abby Love’s highly anticipated Dripping Springs bakery, Abby Jane Bakeshop, is previewing breakfast pastries this weekend. The bakery is accepting online orders until Wednesday, July 29 for pickups on Saturday, August 1 at the 16604 Fitzhugh Road facility at Barton Springs Mill.

Love is running the bake sale so she can test out breakfast pastry recipes. On the menu are croissants, babkas (chocolate-chile and orange-cardamom), sweet and savory scones (peach-jalapeño cheddar cornmeal, blueberry-rye), and cookies. She plans to host future pop-ups to preview the other types of baked goods (like pizzas, breads, and sweets) on later dates.

Love, the former pastry chef at Texas-focused Dai Due and bakery Confituras, announced Abby Jane Bakeshop (previously called L’Oven) in January of 2019. The bakeshop’s opening has been delayed by the COVID-19 pandemic, but it is currently on track to open by late summer.

The pastries will be available for contactless pickup at Abby Jane Bakeshop starting at 11 a.m. Though the Barton Springs Mill facility will be closed, next-door distillery Treaty Oak will open at noon.
