As a response to the global novel coronavirus pandemic, Austin bakery and beer garden Easy Tiger closed of three of its locations — downtown, Linc, Cedar Park (inside Whole Foods) — as of today, Monday, March 16, and will reopen the Linc’s drive-thru after a yearlong hiatus starting on Wednesday, March 18.
Easy Tiger will keep its wholesale bakery operational, which a rep reports feeds over 50,000 Texans daily, as well as offer a limited menu via drive-thru and delivery out of the Linc location. No word yet on how delivery will be offered or what the menu will be, watch this space for updates.
The first location of Easy Tiger opened downtown in 2012. Easy Tiger’s “head dough-puncher” David Norman was nominated for a James Beard award this year, after publishing his cookbook “Bread on the Table” in October. There’s also a location planned to open on South Lamar in the former Red’s Porch this winter.
Easy Tiger joins the growing list of Austin restaurants closing down in order to help slow down the spread of COVID-19.
