In some extremely Austin news, a new vegan cafe and creative space, Dear Diary Coffeehouse, is opening soon in Central East Austin. Dear Diary will open this spring, aiming for March, at 1212 Chicon Street.

Drinks-wise, Dear Diary will offer coffee drinks, local beer, and tea. In terms of food, there will be an all-vegan menu of grab-and-go lunches and sweet and savory snacks. Based on Instagram posts, it seems likely that at least the sweet snacks may be outsourced from local vendors.

The shop will feature both benches with electrical outlets for those working and art supplies and community diaries with prompts that anyone can write in for those feeling more creative. The shop will also sell merchandise like custom diaries and prints, and will curate art shows.

Dear Diary is owned by two creative professionals, Joshua Adrian and A. Litsa. Its mission is to support local creatives by bringing people together. It will be open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.
