Friends Brunch Pop-Up
A new brunch pop-up centered on the still-popular sitcom Friends is coming to Austin in the summer. Dubbed The One Where They All Went for Brunch, the brunch will feature appetizers and mimosas. The release notes that Rachel’s meaty sweet trifle won’t be served, but that Ross’s Thanksgiving turkey sandwich might be. Episodes of the show will screen during the two-hour brunch, and there are plans for games (trivia, charades). Dressing up as Friends characters are encouraged as there is a costume contest. It’ll take place on Sunday, June 7 for two hours at a yet-to-be-disclosed location. The price of the brunch isn’t known yet, but people can register on the site to find out when tickets go on sale. It’s run by The Brunch Club, which hosts themed brunches across the country.

Beer Collaboration
Hot new East Austin taco restaurant Nixta Taqueria teamed up with downtown brewery Central District Brewing on two new beers. There’s the roasted coconut stout and the champurrado stout. The beers will be available starting on Monday, February 17 with a pop-up at the brewery from 4 to 8 p.m. The beers will be available with $2 donations towards nonprofit New Leaf Agriculture, plus the restaurant will serve those beet tartare tostadas and coco rico paletas until 6 p.m. Nixta is also previewing the beers during its Valentine’s Day dinner tonight via $5 donations to New Leaf.

Dinners
Rosedale patisserie Fluff Meringues & More is hosting catering company Huckleberry Hospitality and chef David Turner for a seafood dinner on Sunday, February 16. The five-course meal includes oysters, blue crab rice, a seared market fish, and sweets. Tickets are $110, and it runs from 6:30 to 9 p.m.

Then, North Loop restaurant Foreign & Domestic is offering a seafood and bubbles pop-up on Tuesday, February 18 instead of regular service, from 5 to 9:30 p.m. It’s meant to bring awareness to The Rising Tides Oyster Co-op, a Maine-based cooperatively-owned grocery store. On deck are oysters, caviar with milk bread, live sea scallops, and more. It’s being co-hosted with seafood company Minamoto Foods and Serendipity Wines.

Food Truck Anniversary
East Austin chicken truck Spicy Boys is celebrating its first anniversary with a party at Zilker Brewing on Sunday, February 16 from noon to 8 p.m. On deck’s chicken, beer, a ranch fountain, flash tattoos, and a DJ set.
