Yet another cookie delivery service has landed in Austin. Cookie Rich offers tiny, luxe cookies sandwiching a variety of fillings, available via online ordering for pickups in West Campus on 2201 North Lamar Boulevard or delivery via DoorDash.
Cookie Rich has quite a variety of flavors like chocolate chip with dark chocolate fudge, funfetti with sprinkle cream cheese, and toasted coconut with salted caramel filling. There are also seasonal flavors like pumpkin and cream cheese and gingerbread with orange-spiked cream cheese. The cookies can be ordered individually or by-the-dozen, and there are plans for shipping across Texas soon.
Chef Lorin Peters, who is an Austin native, has 10 years of experience as a savory chef, including a stint at highly acclaimed California restaurant the French Laundry. She pivoted to making cookies in October after a career shakeup during the pandemic. She wanted to create something that was “neither too sweet, nor too rich,” according to a press release.
Peters will face some stiff competition in the Austin cookie delivery market. In addition to hometown original Tiff’s Treats, recent additions have included Insomnia Cookies, which deliver until 3 a.m.; Mariah’s Cookies, a delivery service from Mariah Carey; Dough Re Mi, a service run by high schoolers that donates a portion of its proceeds; and a host of other bakery delivery services from other chefs who have had to pivot during the pandemic.
Cookie Rich’s hours are from 10 to 5 p.m., Monday through Saturday.
