San Francisco-based Indian Food Chain Announces Expansion to Austin
One of San Francisco’s best Indian restaurants, Curry Up Now, is coming to Texas next year. The chain, which offers mash-up creations like tikka masala burritos, a tandoori fried chicken sandwich, will first open in Dallas in 2021, and then expand into Austin at an as-yet-undetermined date. Curry Up Now started as a food truck in 2009 and now has several locations across the country, with 40 more currently in development.

Governor Abbott Renews Comfort Food Care Package Program
Texas Governor Greg Abbott that the Comfort Food Care Package (CFCP) program that began in March will continue through the holidays. The program allows people to buy family meals from restaurants that are then delivered to families in need, as determined by participation in programs like state-sponsored programs like CASA. Find participating restaurants and order meals here.

Fluff Meringues and More Pops Up at Westlake Hotel
The Wayback Cafe & Cottages is hosting Burnet Road bakery Fluff Meringues and More as a pop-up this winter. Hotel guests and the public can order coffee and tea, light breakfast (think: scones and clotted cream), pastry boxes, and, of course, meringues. The pop-up is open daily from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and takes to-go orders over the phone, in-person, or online (with 48 hours advance notice).
