Korean Restaurant Outpost Closure
North Austin Korean restaurant Seoulju is closing up its delivery/takeout-only outpost within Kitchen United Mix, because of “these uncertain times,” as owner John Lee explains on Instagram. Its last day of service at the ghost kitchen hub will be on Saturday, November 21. He urges people to order directly through ChowNow rather than third-party companies, to “help us save on commissions.” This outpost opened in July as a way to expand and increase profits for the restaurant. The original restaurant on 9515 North Lamar Boulevard is remaining open.
Whataburger Holiday Sweater
For the holidays, Whataburger is now selling a festive sweater. The orange-white-green sweater features the burger chain’s familiar logo, trees, string lights, and wreaths. It’s available through its webstore for $42.99.
Food Truck Shutter
East Austin Vietnamese food truck the B’s Kitchen has closed up officially as of early October. on East Cesar Chavez in front of the East 1st Grocery shop. The menu, from owner Jimmy Buis, featured banh mi and vermicelli bowls.
Temporary Closure
Veracruz All Natural’s recently debuted permanent downtown Austin restaurant within the Line Hotel is temporarily closed as of today, Monday, November 16, because of an electrical problem. The reopening date isn’t known at this point.
