Austin chef Page Pressley is now one of 31 confirmed contestants on the 16th season of the reality dating show The Bachelorette. The show will premiere on Tuesday, October 13 at 7 p.m.
Pressley currently runs a cook-along delivery supper club called Foxtail Supper Club. He has previously held positions as chef de cuisine and partner at New American downtown Austin restaurant Emmer & Rye, which he left in 2019; executive chef at South Austin bakery and pizzeria St. Philip, which closed in 2015; and chef de cuisine at Uchiko.
Pressley was announced as a possible contestant in July, but confirmed yesterday. He was 37 years old during filming, and has a 6-year-old son. His profile for the show notes that his favorite foods are pizza and caviar, but “not at the same time.” (It also says he was named a best new chef by Food and Wine magazine in 2016, but this is incorrect — his Emmer & Rye partner Kevin Fink took home that award).
It’s slightly unclear exactly whose affections Pressley will be competing for. Though the official bachelorette is Clare Crowley, several sites are reporting that Crowley left the show during filming. The show first announced contestants in March, but filming was delayed by the COVID-19. During the delay, the show recruited more contestants, including Pressley.
