Parasite Ram-Don
In honor of critically acclaimed multi-Oscar-nominated film Parasite from director Bong Joon-ho, Southern-Asian restaurant Peached Tortilla is offering a special dish pulled straight from the film. The “ram-don” (aka jjappaguri, a mixture of instant black bean ramen and seafood udon noodles.) is made with Tokyo wavy noodles, black bean paste, neoguri seasoning, hanger steak, and caramelized kimchi. It’ll be available only for one night as part of the restaurant’s weekly ramen nights on Thursday, January 16.

Taco Cabana Shutters
Taco chain Taco Cabana closed a total of 19 locations in Texas this week. This includes the 8620 Burnet Road location in North Shoal Creek, as reported by Austin 360. A press release noted that parent company Fiesta Restaurant Group decided to close “all stores with significant losses.” There are still plenty of locations open in the Austin area.

Round Rock Bakery Opening
There’s a new bakery up in Round Rock with the opening of Sanford Sourdough Bakery as of last week, Friday, January 10. Owners Dave and Meriann Sanford focus on, well, sourdough bread, sold via farmers markets (which will remain open).
