John Mueller’s Barbecue Relocation
While Black Box Barbecue, overseen by pitmaster John Mueller, closed up shop at its original 201 East 9th Street location in Georgetown over Labor Day weekend, the truck is looking to relocate permanently into a new address. For now, Black Box is parked outside of Uncle Gary’s Bar in Pflugerville during the weekends at 19903 Farm to Market Road 685, as of this past Saturday and Sunday. Its social media accounts will be updated with any future locations. Black Box marked the return of Mueller in the barbecue world when it opened 2017 by owners Justin Bohls and Gary Brown. They had wanted to turn the original address into physical restaurant.

Juice Shop Opens in East Austin
Austin-based juice shop chain JuiceLand opened its next location within East Austin development Plaza Saltillo, which debuted last week at 1109 East 5th Street, Suite 110. On deck is the usual menu of juices, smoothies, açaí bowls, salads, and wraps. Next up for Plaza Saltillo is brunch chain Snooze, which is opening later this month.

Austin Restaurateur’s Dinner Club
Swift’s Attic and Wu Chow’s CK Chin hosts a monthly dinner club with friends Paul and Denise Smith under the name Goldsmith Entertainment, where CK himself cooks. His cooking methods are more about feel and improvisation than exactness and following recipes.
