A new gourmet doughnut shop is opening near Bryker Woods: Donuts Please is aiming to open in the Jefferson Square shopping center at 1601 West 38th Street starting sometime in early 2020.

Co-owners and couple Angel and Arianna Salinas want to open the “best, well-rounded doughnut shop Texas has ever seen,” as they told Eater. They’ve been researching doughnuts across the country for the past three years.

Expect doughnuts with various frostings, glazes, and fillings, as indicated by a Poached listing for the head baker. A job requirement is that the person “must LOVE donuts.”

Arianna Salinas worked as the restaurant manager of Japanese restaurant Morimoto and hotel Wynn in Las Vegas, as well as the corporate host manager for Hapa Sushi in Denver. They’ve also worked at Wolfgang Puck, José Andrés’s ThinkFoodGroup, and Austin’s Guy+Larry Restaurants (Red Ash, Salty Sow, T22, ATX Cocina, Roaring Fork).

Once the shop opens, Donuts Please will host community-focused programming, and there are plans to expand with further stores.
