Instagrammable lunch option Sweetgreen will open an Austin outpost early next year. Located at 1007 South Congress Avenue, the fast-casual restaurant will be similar to the other Sweetgreen locations but with an emphasis on Austin-inspired design.
Nic Jammet, Sweetgreen co-founder and chief concept officer, tells Eater, “We’ve been drawn to Austin for some time and South Congress feels like the perfect place to introduce ourselves. There is a real sense of community in the area and we’re looking forward to connecting with neighbors, suppliers, growers and artists.”
The team is currently working on Texas-specific menu items for the new store.
When asked if there are any other Sweetgreens planned for the area, Jammet says, “Right now our focus is on the South Congress restaurant, but we definitely have an eye on the future and are always listening to to our guests!”
Keep an eye here for more opening details as the store comes online.
