New San Antonio Fried Chicken and Biscuit Restaurant
San Antonio brewery and restaurant Southerleigh Brewing Co. is opening a new casual spot dedicated to fried chicken and biscuits. Southerleigh Bird & Biscuit will serve up fried chicken, chicken tenders, rotisserie chicken and turkey, biscuits, oysters, etc., along with beers, wine, cocktails (frozen options too), available for dine-in and take-out, from chef and co-owner Jeff Balfour. It’s set to open in 2020, found at 5822 Worth Parkway, Suite #111 in the Rim development in the northwest area of the city.

In related news, Southerleigh’s forthcoming Brooks development restaurant has a new name and focus: Southerleigh Coast & Comfort, which will serve up family-style seafood and oysters, opening in late 2019.
Austin Whiskey Dinners
Texas comfort food restaurant Hideaway Kitchen & Bar will offer up a multi-day menu in conjunction with local distillery Still Austin Whiskey Co. for its barrel-aged bourbon release. The four-course menu includes dishes like smoked duck prosciutto, crawfish hush puppies and bourbon demi-braised short ribs, along with paired cocktails. It runs from Friday, August 9 through Sunday, August 11. Still bartenders are also taking over the restaurant’s bar on Friday, August 9, serving up whiskey cocktails.
