Red’s Porch’s Shutters
Comfort food patio restaurant mini-chain Red’s Porch, known for its menu of Southern, Texan, and Tex-Mex fare, is closing up two of its locations. The Quarry restaurant on West Braker Lane is shuttering on Saturday, August 10, while the Round Rock location appears to have closed already without any notice sometime in June. The original restaurant on South Lamar, which opened in 2009 from founder Davis Tucker, remains open. He also runs North by Northwest Brewing Co., which closed its West Slaughter Lane location earlier this year.

Winemaking Lessons
Hye, Texas winery William Chris Vineyards is hosting a bunch of educational winemaking classes this month. People will be able to learn about the wine process as well as participate in punching-down the wine. Tickets are $25, and it takes place on various Saturdays and Sundays this month.

Farming Fundraising Dinners
Downtown’s Line Austin Hotel restaurant Arlo Grey will offer special three-course dinner, with partial proceeds benefiting local nonprofit Urban Roots. The $35 meal will include two courses with options like fried steam buns to burrata to stuffed herb-roasted chicken, dessert, and a glass of wine. Dubbed Arlo Grey Helping Hands, it takes place from Thursday, August 8 through Sunday, August 18.
