Hill Country winery Southold Farm & Cellar is opening a wine bar in Johnson City, Texas. The Parlour at 109 North Nugent Avenue, from co-owners Regan and Carey Meador, is now open as of this week, Thursday, October 24.
The Parlour features wines from the Fredericksburg winery’s tasting room, available by the glass and bottle. The wines are made with Texas grapes, which are purchased from local vineyards. The Meadors have planted their own vineyards, though, which will be available for harvest and wine production in the near future.
The Parlour will serve food, too. Light bites and snacks will be made either in-house or sourced from other Hill Country vendors and restaurants. Eventually, much like Southold’s wines, they plan on using produce grown on the Fredericksburg land. The 500-square-foot Johnson City bar will feature both indoor and outdoor seating.
The Meadors opened the Fredericksburg winery two years ago, after attempting to open in the North Fork in Long Island, New York.
