Los Angeles fried chicken stand Lucky Bird is coming to Austin for a mini-pop-up series during Labor Day weekend. The four-day pop-up takes place at the Line Austin Hotel restaurant Dean’s One Trick Pony from Thursday, August 29 through Sunday, September 1 at 111 East Cesar Chavez Street in the downtown area.

Lucky Bird owner and chef Chris Dane will come to the Austin hotel restaurant to cook up the limited menu. This means the two-piece fried chicken (served with pickled vegetables and slaw) and the fried chicken sandwich (made with fried chicken thighs slathered with a smoked paprika aioli and served on a milk bun). The food stall will also sell retail bottles of its house hot sauce.

Dean’s will also serve up some of its regular menu during this time, from disco fries to burgers to salads to soft serve. Scope out the full menu below.

Dane opened Lucky Bird in Los Angeles public marketplace Grand Central Market in August 2018.
