Texas pizza mini-chain Brooklyn Pie Co. is opening a new Austin restaurant in the Zilker neighborhood, as confirmed by a staffer. Named Brooklyn Pizza and Bar, it’s taking over the 2026 South Lamar Boulevard space that had been previously home to now-closed Henri’s Cheese & Wine Shop. It’s now open as of early September.
The pizzeria is known for its New York-style pies, cheese slices and pies, calzones, chicken wings, chicken tenders, sandwiches, salads, and desserts. Brooklyn’s menu features just that, along with paninis, well drinks, beer, and cheesecakes from Austinatious Cheesecakes.
This is Brooklyn Pie Co.’s 7th Austin-area restaurant, with several in the city and single locations in Round Rock and San Marcos. Plus there are individual restaurants in Padre Island and Corpus Christi.
The exact South Lamar address was the former space for Henri’s. Co-owners Andy Means and Jessie Katz closed the four-year-old restaurant and shop after it caught on fire in 2016. (They currently run Windsor Park cafe Hank’s.)
Brooklyn Pizza and Bar’s hours are from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Wednesday, and until 11 p.m. Thursday through Saturday. Its neighbors include Southeast Asian restaurant Super Thai Cuisine, bakery Tiny Pies, bar Golden Goose, and Mexican restaurant El Meson.
