A Year of Free Wings is Up For Grabs in One Sports Bar’s Women’s World Cup Bracket

Sports bar Cover 3 (and Cover 2) announced a contest for the Women’s World Cup, which kicks off today with South Korea taking on France at 2 p.m. and ends on July 7. All locations of the restaurant are hosting watch parties, offering five special wing flavors based on countries competing in the tournament, and offering a bracket contest to win free wings for a year and a $500 prize. The restaurants are also collecting sports equipment for Partnerships For Children.

Texas Festival Foods on TV
The Cooking Channel’s Carnival Eats show will feature dishes from New Braunfels and San Marcos this month. In the episode airing June 23, host Noah Cappe visits German celebration Wurstfest for a black forest float, while on the June 30 episode, he attends the Sights and Sounds of Christmas in San Marcos to try a porco loco gordita.

California Beer Launches in Texas Soon
Named after the amendment that repealed the prohibition on alcohol, 21st Amendment Brewing will launch throughout the state this month. The San Leandro-based beer will start its rollout to local bars starting June 17, with launch events at Whole Foods, Easy Tiger, Draught House, and others.
