Very Late Night Cookie Delivery Chain Insomnia Opens in Austin

Austin is getting two new options to fulfill cookie cravings — including a bakery that delivers until 3 a.m. National chain Insomnia Cookies is moving into 2323 San Antonio Street by campus (as pointed out by an eagle-eyed tipster), and is now open as of Friday, November 8, while local bakery Kellie’s Baking Company (at 5245 Burnet Road) announced a delivery service as of late May.

Insomnia Cookies operates both a bakery and a delivery service, which will bring still-warm cookies to your door until 3 a.m. The menu will remain the same as other locations, with 12 flavors of cookies (think chocolate chunk, s’mores, peanut butter chip), which can be made into ice cream sandwiches, brownies, and cakes. It also serves milk.

Insomnia’s Austin retail hours are from 11 a.m. to 3 a.m. weekends, and 9 a.m. to 3 a.m. weekdays. Delivery hours are from noon to 3 a.m. weekends, and then 10 a.m. to 3 a.m. weekdays.

Insomnia was started in a college dorm room at the University of Pennsylvania and has expanded to over 100 stores nationwide, including one in San Marcos.

Meanwhile, Kellie’s, which has been offering delivery through Favor, wanted to expand its options after celebrating 13 years in business. The bakery will deliver five flavors of cookies (salted chocolate chip, snickerdoodle, peanut butter, lime white chocolate, and sprinkles and sugar) within a 7.5 mile radius of the shop in Brentwood, though the cookies need to cool due to the ingredients used.
