Keep that Netflix password up to date, because famed Austin pitmaster Aaron Franklin will make a cameo on upcoming Netflix series The Chef Show. Eater’s pop culture editor Greg Morabito explains the new venture:
Roy Choi and Jon Favreau, two very big deals in the increasingly overlapping worlds of food and entertainment, are teaming up for a new Netflix series called The Chef Show that will showcase their favorite dining destinations and culinary inspirations across the country. The friends will be joined on their journey by an ever-rotating cast of guest stars, including Gwyneth Paltrow, Robert Downey Jr., David Chang, Evan Kleiman, Jazz Singsanong, Andrew Rea, Bill Burr, Robert Rodriguez, Tom Holland, Kevin Feige, and Joe and Anthony Russo.
The Chef Show premieres on June 7, with episodes featuring Franklin smoking brisket at Franklin Barbecue, a dinner in Atlanta with the Avengers cast, and a tribute to Los Angeles food writing icon Jonathan Gold.
