Circle C’s New American restaurant District Kitchen + Cocktails opened its second location up in the North Shoal Creek neighborhood at 7858 Shoal Creek Boulevard today, Tuesday, May 14.
Owners Amir and Ali Hajimaleki (the former is the chef) took over the space previously belonging to longtime pan-Asian restaurant Suzi’s China Grill for their second location.
District North’s menu remains relatively the same as the original one, for lunch, dinner, and weekend brunch. There are New American dishes like tacos, raw offerings (poke, oysters), salads, steaks, pasta, seafood, and more. The opening will also feature newer lunch dishes like salmon salad and chicken/brie sandwiches. Drinks will include wine, beer, and cocktails.
Overseeing the menu is chef Amir Hajimaleki, as well as chef de cuisine MacKenzie Viglianco, who had been with the Hajimalekis’ other restaurant Oasthouse.
The North District is open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday, 10:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday, 10:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Sunday.
The Hajimalekis opened the original District on West Slaughter Lane in 2013, followed by the grill and bar Oasthouse Kitchen + Bar in 2015 in northwest Austin. Amir is also working on opening his own Persian restaurant, Roya, though there is no address or timeline yet.
Suzi’s China Grill opened in 1997 by Suzy Yi.
