Indian-ish Dinner Party
Food writer Priya Krishna is celebrating the recent publication of her first cookbook, Indian(ish): Recipes and Antics From a Modern American Family, with an Austin dinner party as part of her book tour, hosted by Puli-Ra. The meal will feature recipes from the book (roti pizzas, roti tacos), wine, music, and more. Tickets are from $75 to $105 and it takes place on Sunday, August 4 from 7 to 10 p.m. at Austin Winery.
Nighttime Dim Sum
East Austin Chinese restaurant Old Thousand is adding evening dim sum to its lineup, with dishes like shumai, scallion pancakes, and more. Items from the dim sum carts will cost between $2 to $7, and it’s available starting at 7 p.m.
Pitmaster Party With Kimmel
Franklin Barbecue’s Aaron Franklin hung out in Los Angeles with Jimmy Kimmel and a bunch of other notable pitmasters (Martin’s Bar-B-Que Joint’s Pat Martin, Hometown Bar-B-Que’s Billy Durney, etc.) during the one-year birthday party for Adam Perry Lang’s steakhouse APL Restaurant over the weekend.
Anniversary Treats
To celebrate the ten-year-anniversary of downtown spot Walton’s Fancy and Staple, the restaurant and deli is offering special items this week, from Monday, May 13 through Friday, May 17. There are also free miniature golden eggs and dog treats. Partial proceeds from the week will go towards Austin Pets Alive.
