Essential Cherrywood Neapolitan pizzeria Unit D Pizzeria is closing on 2406 Manor Road, but the owner of the nearby Eater 38 Italian food truck owner Patrizi’s, Nic Patrizi, is going to take over the space for a new restaurant opening sometime in the late summer.

Unit D’s last day will be held on Saturday, May 18. Owner Shalou Barth wanted to turn her attention to a new project that involves food that she can’t talk about yet. She did note that it isn’t a new restaurant.

Patrizi’s the food truck will remain open on Manor Road at the Butterfly Bar and Vortex space whenever the new restaurant will open. It isn’t pegged as just simply a brick-and-mortar for the food truck.

Barth opened Unit D in 2015, serving wood-fired Neapolitan pies and dishes. She had won the money for the restaurant’s pizza oven competing on The Price Is Right.

Nic and his brother Matt Patrizi opened the food truck in 2013 with a menu focused on pasta.

The 2406 Manor Road space also houses butcher shop and restaurant Dai Due and bakery Sugar Mama’s Bakeshop.
