Honest Mary’s, local fast-casual grain bowl restaurant in the Arboretum, is expanding to a second location closer to Central Austin. It will open at 4800 Burnet Road in the Rosedale Village Shopping Center on Tuesday, January 22.

Honest Mary’s serves grain bowls with mostly organic, local ingredients that rotate seasonally. The restaurant has suggested bowls (like Golden Grain bowl with quinoa, arugula, apples, beets, chickpeas, goat cheese, and pecans), or patrons can create their own. The restaurant also serves kombucha, wine, and beer. Honest Mary’s has proved to be a popular spot for lunch, with lines often stretching out the door.

The menu will remain the same at the new location, but the look of the restaurant will be quite different to fit the neighborhood. That means a patio, greenery, and a skylight, courtesy Chioco Design. Honest Mary’s neighbors at the new development, which is across the street from the original Pinthouse Pizza, will include Fluff Meringues.

Profits from the first day of the Rosedale restaurant will go to Fostering Hope Austin. There may also be more locations of Honest Mary’s, which first opened in 2017, in the works.
