Closed Spanish tapas restaurant Bullfight is being turned into a new Tex-Mex restaurant, as pointed out by a tipster, called Vamonos, which is Spanish for “let’s go,” The Parkside Projects restaurant on 4807 Airport Boulevard opens on Monday, April 15.

Vamonos will serve lunch and dinner, according to its Facebook page, (brunch is unlikely, as the restaurant will be closed Sundays), and should be pretty casual (it’s billed as “ranch-style Tex Mex”). The restaurant will also make use of the building’s patio, and the building itself has been painted bright pink. It’s currently hiring staff.

Parkside Group opened Bullfight in September 2015. It closed suddenly in June 2018, promising to reopen with “concept more in line with our neighborhood and community,” according to a post on Facebook at the time.

The Parkside Group also manages champagne and oysters standby Parkside on Sixth Street, pizzeria Backspace (which is right behind Parkside), Italian restaurant Olive & June in Old West Austin, and juice bar Jugo, which just opened its second location in Rosedale. It also owns two event spaces, 7co (in the former LaV space) and 800 Congress. Parkside is also opening within the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport at some point.

Update, April 15: This article has been updated to reflect that Vamonos opens today, April 15.
