New York Pizza Expert Brings Pizza Tour to Austin

Austin Pizza Tour
Popular New York City-based pizza exploration Scott’s Pizza Tours is bringing the circuit to Austin in May. Tour guides Scott Wiener and Austin Eats Food Tours’ Adam Boles will take participants to four pizza spots, including Neapolitan pizzeria Bufalina, there’s transportation, food, drink, and pizza journals. It takes place on Saturday, May 11 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Tickets are $89.

Tastemaker Winners
The winners of the annual CultureMap Austin Tastemaker awards were announced this week. This includes restaurant of the year, which went to Southern restaurant Olamaie, chef of the year to Olamaie chef Michael Fojtasek, rising star chef of the year to Juniper’s Amanda Turner, and others.

Airport Grease Trap
Three people fell into a big grease trap at the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport earlier this week. Two of those people were able to get out of it, but one experienced a cardiac arrest, and received CPR, as reported by KXAN.
